As women, we are constantly juggling a million different balls. We’re trying to be good wives, good mothers, good employees, good friends, and good Christians. It’s a lot to take on, and sometimes it can all feel a little bit too much. When the weight of the world is bearing down on us and we’re feeling anxious, it can be helpful to turn to God’s word for guidance and comfort. Here are 10 bible verses for when you’re feeling anxious.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6

Philippians 4:6 is a great verse to remember in these moments of stress. This verse tells us that instead of succumbing to our fear, we should present our petitions and worries directly to God through prayer and thanksgiving. I love this verse because it says to not be anxious about anything. Meaning whatever thing is troubling us, we can take it to the Lord and that is something I find comfort in.

“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” – Proverbs 12:25

This verse reminds us of the power of kind words and how they can help to soothe anxious feelings. This is a great reminder to be gentle with ourselves, as well as others when we are feeling overwhelmed.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” – Psalm 34:4

When we are feeling anxious and afraid, it can feel like there is no escape. This verse reminds us that God is always with us and will deliver us from our fears. No matter what we are going through, God is always there to help us through it. If we seek Him, He will be there for our anxious hearts.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1

This verse reminds us that we have nothing to fear when God is by our side. When we are feeling overwhelmed and anxious, it can be helpful to take a moment to reflect on the power of God’s presence in our lives. We truly need not worry about anything in this world because God has already gone before it and the victory is His.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

This verse reminds us to entrust our worries and anxieties to God. He cares for us deeply and is always willing to listen whenever we come to Him with our concerns. He understands the weight of our burdens and is ready to help carry them for us, bringing relief from the stress and worries we feel in life. It is important that we take time to rely on His strength and trust Him with our worries.

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

I love this verse because sometimes we just need to be still. I know I can get in my own head or be so busy that I never take the time to stop and just be. This verse reminds me to just take a few minutes and be still, to remember that God is in control and He will provide for us.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” – Jeremiah 29:11

When we are feeling anxious, it can be helpful to remember that God has a plan for us. He wants only good things for us, and He will never leave us without hope. This is such an encouraging verse to meditate on when things seem hard or uncertain.

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” – Psalm 23:4

This verse reminds us that even in the darkest moments, when we feel like we are all alone, God is with us. His rod and staff provide protection and security, filling us with strength and courage to keep going. In those hard times, it can be helpful to remember that we are never truly alone.

This verse is a reminder of the peace that comes from Christ. It tells us that in Him, we can find true comfort and security. This peace surpasses all understanding and will guard our hearts and minds even when the world around us seems chaotic. We can be assured that no matter what happens, God will never leave us and He will always provide us with the strength to get through it.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”- Romans 8:28

This verse serves as a reminder that even in the most difficult of times, God is still at work. We can trust that He will use all things -the good and the bad- to bring about something beautiful. It encourages us to have faith that there is a greater plan and purpose for our lives and that no matter what happens, God is working all things together for our good.

These 10 bible verses are just a starting point—there are many more great passages in Scripture that can provide comfort in times of anxiety. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out, take some time to reflect on these verses and let God’s peace wash over you.
